"Serial no. 2460828. Manufactured circa late 1943 by Underwood Elliott Fisher Company, chambered in .30 Carbine,18"" round barrel marked “UNDERWOOD/1-44/Flaming Bomb." The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The carbine retains desirable WWII configuration features including its push-button safety and Type II milled adjustable rear sight marked “HI." The low wood stock retains an ordnance crossed cannons cartouche, while the left side is marked “JPL," indicating a post-war arsenal rebuild inspection. Underwood-produced carbines are well regarded for their quality and often incorporated parts produced by subcontractors during wartime production. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
