"WWII Underwood M1 Carbine with Post-War Alterations .30 Carbine (D2026-00888)(DTX)
Description:
"Serial no. 2899150. Manufactured in March 1944 by Underwood Elliott Fisher Company, chambered in .30 Carbine,18"" round barrel marked “UNDERWOOD/Flaming Bomb." The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The carbine has been upgraded with typical post-war features including a bayonet lug, flip safety, and adjustable rear sight. The high wood stock shows minimal handling impressions and has been treated with a light coat of linseed oil. Underwood-produced carbines were among the many contractor-made rifles issued during WWII and are well regarded for their quality. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly. The carbine is accompanied by an oiler and sling. (Dallas Location)
