Serial No. 844824, made circa Fall of 1942, .30 Carbine, 18" round barrel marked “INLAND MFG. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS / 7-43". Features an early milled front sight marked “N", barrel is proofed with a “P" stamp. Narrow early sling swivel marked “UI", Type I rear flip sight marked “S", and an unmarked Type II recoil plate. The high wood stock is in good condition with a crack on the right side, but retains sharp cartouches. The inner sling well is marked “HI" over a flaming bomb, consistent with Inland production. Action is smooth and functions correctly. Carbine includes a 1943-dated oiler and sling by Biscayne Tent & Awning Co., Inc. A well-preserved example of an early Inland M1 carbine with desirable original features.
