Description:
Inland M1 Carbine in 30 carbine. The top of the receiver is marked "U.S. CARBINE / CAL. 30 M1" on the front and "INLAND DIV. / 48911652" on the rear. The top of the barrel is marked "INLAND MFG. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS / 12 - 43". The right rear of the trigger group is stamped "INLAND" and does not have the 5/6 hole opposite the mag catch. The type 3 hammer is marked "HI" is an Inland part. The short smooth magazine release is marked "M" and "W.I." which is an Inland mark. The smooth push button safety is unmarked which is Inland and others. The inside of the operating slide is marked "PI" for Inland. The flat bolt is marked "IO 1" which is an Inland mark. The front sight is marked "N" which is an Inland mark and others. The front sight is a post set between two protective wings. The aperture rear sight is marked "WSI" on the left which is probably Winchester. The Type 1 barrel band is marked "UI" on the buckle and on the right side of the band which are Inland marks. The inside of the two rivet upper handguard is marked "HI" which is an Inland mark. The rear right of the stock is marked with a small "crossed cannons" and "IO" in the sling well which is Inland. The magazine is marked "AI" which is an Inland mark. This is a very nice example of an Inland M1 Carbine in very good surplus condition with a sling and oiler. .30 Carbine
