Inland M1 Carbine 1st Production Block - July '43
Description: The six digit serial number of this M1 Carbine is 467254 which dates manufacturing aound the early part of July 1943. Serial number 467254 puts this rifle into the early part of the 5th version of the 1st production block which was from serial number 400000 to 700000. I use Roger Larson's book "Comprehensive Guide - M1 Carbine" to verify the parts in the rifles I sell are correct based on manufacturer's serial number, production block, production date, and and production version on a consistant basis. This book's 829 pages are filled with M1 Carbine data and over 4,000 high quality photos that I use to validate the correct parts for the specific rifle. There are many other similar books that are great sources of information about the M1 Carbine, but I prefer one source to remain consistant in my assessment. The M1 Carbines in this particular production block and version did not have any anomalies or peculiarities that would make it somewhat unique except the use of the Oval Cut High Wood Stock. This rifle also has the receiver integrated spring tube instead of the dettachable tube which Inland used sporadically until serial number 610000. When determining which collectable M1 Carbine to buy make sure you evaluate each and every part for correct manufacturer and correct identification stamp. Most manufacturers use lateral support between all suppliers in order to keep the production line moving. This is why Roger Larson's book is so valuable and can make the difference between correct and 100% collectable. REMEMBER; with rare exception (detachable spring tube receiver being one) all of the M1 Carbine parts were interchangeable regardless of manufacturer. ALSO KNOW; virtually none of the 1944-1945 carbines were issued during WWII. About 95% of these were "held back" until the front bayonet lug barrel band, adjustable rear sight, and rotary safety were installed to bring them up to post-war standard issue M1 Carbine configuration. This why the early rifles are worth more than the post-war rifles. The serial number is the key because a post-war M1 Caarbine can be retro-fitted with the parts to make it look WWII issue. CHECK THE SERIAL NUMBER and CHECK THE BARREL BORE ! There's a reason why many sellers of M1 Carbines don't provide a picture of the bore. I won't bore you with identifying all of the parts in this text. I will email you as many pictures of the entire rifle and also pictures of the three data sheets for the rifle. Preferred payment method is valid personal check or USPS Money Order. This rifle will be sold and shipped in compliance with all state and federal firearms regulations. This rifle qualifies for Curio and Relic status. Although this rifle is fully functional there is no express or implied warranty that accompanies. Buyer is to pay actual shipping and handling cost to an approved FFL within the contiguous 48 states. Shipping insurance is optional with cost being buyers responsibility.
