The Plainfield Machine 30M1 is a commercial reproduction of the U.S. M1 Carbine, manufactured by Plainfield Machine Company in New Jersey during the 1960s and 1970s. These rifles were built primarily for the civilian market and are generally well-regarded as some of the better commercial M1 Carbines. Early production rifles often incorporated surplus USGI parts, while later rifles used more commercially manufactured components.
