Universal M1 Carbine .30 Caliber Folding Stock

Description:
M1 Carbine by Universal. 18" barrel, folding stock. Nickel finish. Shiny bore, good mechanics. Magazine included. Condition as new. Serial number 422734. Universal Firearms manufactured 426,000 carbines between 1962 and 1984. This particular carbine would have been made near the end of Universal's production, probably about 1983. Using some original and some newly manufactured parts, the Universal gun is not an exact replica. They had some problems with early guns made between 1962 1nd 1967 (about 97,000 guns - serial numbers 2000 to 99,999). These were called "replicas". The next series of guns were called "Hybrids" and were relatively problem free. These were made until the end of production (serial number 100,000 and up). The stock was manufactured by the Choat Tool Company for Universal.
