WWII Winchester M1 Carbine .30 carbine w/ two 15-rd Magazines and Accessories
Description: WWII M1 Carbine manufactured by Winchester in March 1944, serial #56453xx, in very good condition. It comes with two recent manufacture 15-round magazines, and replica mag pounch, sling and oiler. This rifle is a CMP Italian return, as indicated by the "Star-FAT-68" cartouche on the left side of the buttstock. FAT stands for Fabbrica d'Armi a Terni, which is the Italian arsenal where the rifle was inspected in 1968. It was subsequently returned to the CMP in the U.S. There are no import markings. The bore and rifling are good. Other markings and characteristics include: Bolt: Early to mid-war flat bolt Sights: P.I.-marked (Inland) Type II milled adjustable rear sight, N-marked front sight Magazine Release: M-marked Type II magazine release Other: Type III barrel band with bayonet lug and the initials J.M.Q. and late-war rotary style safety The stock is a Type III late war low wood version in very good shape with normal wear and usage marks. There is a small scrape/dimple on the bottom side of the stock towards the barrel band (see pictures of underside of rifle). The stock has the oval-shaped oiler recess in the rear portion of the buttstock that doubles as a rear sling mount point. Both a replica oiler and replica sling are included in this listing.
