Guns International #: 101871537
Seller's Inventory #: R31362
This assembled Springfield Armory manufactured M1D will nicely fill that hole in your collection without your having to spend nearly as much for it as you would for a documented rifle. The bore is very good with bright, strong rifling with some firing wear. It has a T37 flash hider. The barrel, which should be marked with the manufacturing date, etc., is unmarked. The gun retains approx. 97% of its reparkerized finish. The refinished stock and handguards are very good with the stock having the circled P firing proof and rparts of the square Defense Acceptance Stamp visible. The cleaning kin is present in the buttstock. The stock is equipped with a leather cheek piece that is marked MRT 2-52. The M84 scope is marked with a crown over FKF which indicated that this is one of the scopes sold to Denmark. The optics are excellent and the overall condition is excellent. The swivels are present. The action functions correctly. Overall, this is a WWII Springfield M1 Garand that has been altered to M1D configuration. It looks just like a Korean War arsenal assembled M1D sniper rifle at a much lower price.
