"U.S. Springfield M1 Garand Converted to M1C .30-06 (L2026-07240)
Description:
"Serial no. 3373888. Manufactured circa January 1945 by Springfield Armory, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,24"" round barrel marked “SA F6535448 2-55 A2186 P M DOD Stamp." The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The left side of the receiver has been arsenal drilled and tapped for the M1C sniper mount. The stock remains in very good condition, showing only minimal handling impressions. The M1C was the primary scoped sniper variant of the M1 Garand during the latter stages of WWII and the Korean War, utilizing a side-mounted optic system developed by Griffin & Howe. Many standard M1 rifles were later converted into M1C configuration through arsenal modification programs. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
