Low six-digit Springfield Armory M1D Garand CMP Service Grade w/ docs & hard case

Description:
Low six-digit Springfield Armory M1D Garand semi-auto rifle, serial #2006xx, CMP Service Grade in .30-06 caliber. The receiver was manufactured in March 1941 and the SA barrel is dated 9-52 and comes with the integrated scope base (receiver base) common to all M1D sniper models. The receiver has a lead-dipped heel, a "DRC"-marked T105 rear sight, HRA bolt #6528287 and a milled trigger guard.

The walnut stock and handguards have normal wear and handling marks such as small dings and scratches but are still in very good condition.  The number 0588 is stamped on the right side of the buttstock and the cartouches "SA in a square box" and RA (Raritan Arsenal) on stamped on the left side of the buttstock.  Two slightly overlapping "Circle P" cartouches are visible on the lower side of the pistol grip and the bottom of the pistol grip has the letter T, while the letter X is stamped on the bottom side of the buttstock.  The cartouches in combination with the early receiver and 1952 barrel is indicative that this pre-WWII rifle was arsenal-converted to an M1D during the Korean War effort in 1952.

This rifle is being sold as received from the CMP and includes a CMP Certificate of Authenticity, CMP grading card, one 8rd enbloc clip, CMP hard case, CMP M1 owner manual and chamber flag.

NOT included: scope, scope mount, leather cheek pad, flash hider or any other accessories that may have been issued with M1D rifles.

Description from CMP ==> *RM1DS (Service Grade M1D): Good to very good condition. Rifle wear will be exhibited by worn and mixed colors of finish; there may be pitting on the metal parts; wood may be walnut, birch, beech or other variety and will be basically sound but may have minor hairline cracks, dings, scratches, gouges; wood may not match in color or type of wood; bores will be generally good with only minor imperfections; the barrel crown may be nicked, but muzzle will gauge less than "3" and the throat erosion will gauge less than "5".  These rifles will not come with the scope and mount, leather cheek pad, flash hider or any other accoutrement that may have been issued with M1D rifles.  The scope base that is part of the barrel assembly is included and ready for a customer supplied scope and mount.
