Springfield Armory M1 Garand May of 1941 Pre-Pearl Harbor
Description:
Here is an excellent condition 6-digit M1 Garand produced by Springfield Armory in May of 1941 prior to the Pearl Harbor attack. This rifle has a new production Criterion barrel ($300 value) that will be an excellent shooter. This rifle has a -6 SA operating rod with multiple early WW2 internal parts to include a -2 marked follower, and a -2 SA bolt. The rear sight is a type 2 SA locking bar battle sight with a flat sight cover marked B-8872. The trigger housing is marked -1 SA, hammer is C-46008-1, safety-6 SA, and forged trigger guard marked C-46025-1-SA. The USHI stock is unmarked except for a non-serif P proof mark on the pistol grip and faint filled holes where a grenade sight was once present on the left side. This is a great rifle with many early hard to find WW2 parts that we only wish could tell their story. It will be an excellent addition to any collection and a great conversation piece while being enjoyed on the range.
