This rifle epitomizes American industrial might and “The Greatest Battle implement ever devised”. Made famous for its role as, the American service rifle of the Second World War and the Korean War, and its iconic “PING!” after emptying its magazine. This Garand, serial number 1228003, was manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms Company on August 1 (or July 31) of 1942. [1] The rifle has two proofs, a standalone “P” and a circle surrounding a “P”, furthermore, it’s been fitted with a Springfield Armory trigger group, and Harrington & Richardson barrel in 1952. It has a superb bore, and retains 85% fading factory finish on the barrel, receiver, and trigger group.
