WWII Springfield US M1 GARAND Infantry Rifle
Description:
WWII Springfield US M1 GARAND Infantry Rifle
"the greatest battle implement ever devised"
Here we present a Springfield U.S. M1 Garand Rifle, manufactured in 1941 at Springfield Armory in Massachusetts. This .30 caliber semi-automatic rifle was that standard U.S. service rifle during World War II and the Korean War. Most were issued to U.S. forces, though some were also provided as foreign aid to American allies. To say that it was and is highly regarded would be an understatement. In the words of General Patton, “In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.”
The top of the frame is marked “U.S. RIFLE/CAL .30 M1/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY”. The serial number on the receiver puts production in July of 1941. The barrel is undated but does bear a “P” proof mark. A faint “Circle/P” remains on the pistol grip. Features a “HUNTER” brand brown leather sling.
The overall condition is good. This rifle has been refinished with uniform dark blue finish and a smooth, lightly sanded stock. The markings are clear. The bore is sharp and bright. The action is excellent.
This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
Barrel is 24 inches.
Caliber: .30-06
Overall condition as seen in photos.
