THis 3-shot 8mm Lebel caliber Model 1907-15 Berthier rifle was manufactured by Remington for France at the beginning of WWI. As there are no French inspection stamps, it appears that this rifle was never delivered to France but it may have been sold elsewhere as there are unknown stamps on the barrel (see below). The 31..5"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The gun has approx. 98% blue with the bolt and buttplate being bright. It is marked Remington Mle 1907-15 on the left side of the receiver and RAC 1907-15 on the right side of the chamber. The right side of the barrel forward of the rear sight has a series of characters which may be Cryllic, the meaning of which is unknown to us. The unmarked stock is excellent with scattered light storage dents. The sling swivels are present. The action functions correctly. This super Remington Mle 1907-15 rifle would fit any WWI collection.
