"Last-Year Production Izhevsk Arsenal M38 Carbine – 7.62×54R (D2026-00528)(DTX)
Description:
"Serial No. 38-0547, manufactured in 1945 at the Izhevsk Arsenal. Chambered in 7.62×54R with the correct 20" round barrel (as opposed to the more common 20½"), this example represents the final year of M38 production. The bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling, and serial numbers are matching. The left side of the receiver is import marked. Notably, this carbine remains in its original M38 stock rather than the later M44 stock commonly encountered on postwar examples. Overall condition is very good, with light handling and storage wear consistent with age. It is estimated that only approximately 10,000–20,000 M38 carbines were produced in 1945 out of roughly 2.5 million manufactured between 1939 and 1945. Action is smooth and functions correctly, making this a scarce and desirable Mosin-Nagant variant for the advanced military collector. Dallas Location
