"WWII Russian Izhevsk Arsenal M44 Dated 1943 7.62x54R (L2026-03079)
Description:
"Serial no. RC008026. Manufactured in 1943 at Izhevsk Arsenal, chambered in 7.62x54R,20.5"" round barrel. The bore is excellent with sharp, well-defined rifling noted throughout. Serial numbers are matching, with the buttplate force matched during post-war Soviet arsenal refurbishment. The carbine remains in overall excellent condition, showing only light storage impressions. The carbine comes complete with its box, cleaning tools, and oiler. Approximately 50,000 M44 carbines were produced in 1943 as trial and pre-production rifles before full-scale production officially began in 1944, making dated 1943 examples significantly scarcer than standard wartime M44 carbines. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
