Description:
Berlin-Lubecke K98k made in 1938 for the German military. Standard configuration rifle with horizontally adjustable, inverted V front sight and tangent rear sight graduated from 1-20. Chamber coded S/237 along with the production year 1938. The left side of the receiver ring was marked with the full serial number 363b that was carried through to all visible/normally matching parts (except cleaning rod) including the bayonet lug, both barrel bands, tangent rear sight, barrel, receiver, all components of the trigger guard and floor plate, all components of the bolt assembly, the magazine follower, and even the butt plate. Cleaning rod #75. Complete with leather sling.
Condition:
VG with wear as one would expect from a carried gun that was in service throughout World War II. Areas of usual contact and use with toning and early thinning, especially around the forward barrel band and components of the trigger guard, floorplate, and butt plate. Stock and hand guard have been lightly sanded and refinished, the markings on the right side of the butt stock barely discernible. Action was not removed from the stock. Sling is dark and oil soaked. Surprisingly bright bore with strong rifling. Correct manual mechanics. A classic K98k made by Berlin Lubeck in 1938 and used by the German military throughout World War II.
