British Snider Mk.3 BSA Carbine
Description: Serial #C835, .577 Snider, 19 1/4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This carbine has an 1875 dated, BSA&MCo. marked lock with “(crown)/GP" cypher. The barrel has an overall dark, plum-brown patina, but with traces of original blue remaining on protected areas, especially around the breech. The receiver and lock have a slightly grayer patina with traces of color case-hardening still present. The brass trigger guard and buttplate have been cleaned to bright yellow, and a segmented cleaning rod is present in the stock compartment. The walnut stock has an armory-added varnish over minor handling marks and surface blemishes throughout. No issue stamps or cartouches are visible. This is a very nice BSA-made Snider carbine, and in fine plus condition overall.
