This is a Mauser K98a carbine in 8X57 Mauser as issued to the German cavalry in World War I. The receiver is marked Danzig 1908. This one has had the bolt replaced with a straight handled one as was done by the German military in 1916; so the bolt does not match. This carbine has an overall patina from tobacco smoke. Because of this, condition is rated Good. The bore is Bright and Shiny.
