Exceptional Argentine Model 1909 Mauser Rifle by DWM
Description: Serial #K8444, 7.65mm Argentine, 29' barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a splendid looking rifle that retains 97-98% of the armory-applied blue finish with some minor flaking to bright gray on the Argentine crest on the receiver. There is some further mild silvering on the heel of the buttplate, and at the sides of the muzzle as well. The trigger, rear sight slider and spring, bolt stop, floorplate release and screw heads retain nearly all their original brilliant fire blue, while the nosecap has begun to age bright plum-blue. The bolt, bayonet lug (with typical modified rail), and cleaning rod are bright. The left side of the barrel has been stamped '7.65', and all metal markings, including the Argentine crest, are very crisp. All numbers, including the cleaning rod, are matching. The walnut stock rates very good-near fine, but does have some minor handling marks and blemishes, especially on the left side of the butt where a line of shallow scratches is present about midway down. The Argentine cartouches are crisp and clear. The rifle is also accompanied by a correct metal muzzle-cover (numbered to a different gun). This is a fantastic example of a desirable, non-import marked, Argentine refurbished Model 1909 rifle, and rates excellent overall.
