FRENCH LEBEL M 1886-93 8x50R CAL. WWI BOLT ACTION BATTLE RIFLE + BAYONET. C&R
Description: I'm selling my collection. Here is a French Lebel Model 1886-93 , manufactured in Tulle one of the main Arsenal Government factory, produced in 1916, "6258" serial numbers are not matching as usual for most of French battle rifle issued in WWI. 31.1/2" barrel with a good boreslightly grainy in the grooves with good rifling. Original factory blue finish rates 65% with tiny spots of pin prick erosion here and there. The wood of this famous battle rifle bears the scarses and repair of these issued in the period 1914-18. On the top of the barrel the letter "N" is marked on (the original 8mmx50R had a flat nose bullet to prevent accidental firing while stored in the mag, then they came out with the "N" pointed bullet with a circle grooved around the primer to be used and fired in all Lebel & Berthier. It could come with its very good original épée quadangular bayonet for an extra $150-. The bolt action, the lifter and tube mag work well and are in excellent condition. These French Lebel are fun to shoot and very accurate with available reloads. These were the first repeaters to shoot the first smokeless cartridges. The rifle was issued in WWI and to many other conflicts African & Indochina conquest. The ammunitions, Adrian Helmet & accessories, illustrations showed on the pictures are not for sale. It's a real collector piece of history as it was produced in 1916 when the battle of Verdun lasted 10 months made 700,000 victims, 163,000 French & 143,000 Germans and 410,000 wounded on both sides. What is not mentioned in the description can be seen on the pictures. I haven't shot this one. I described it to the best of my knowledge. Please don't ask for extra pictures and cartridges showed on the pictures are not for sale. Buyer is responsible for knowing all laws pertaining to this transaction. I will ship diectly to your home if you are a C&R licensee or only to your FFL dealer with the attached copy of my driver license. No shipping to California or to any FFL not accepting direct transfer from a private collector. $1,625 + $105 insured shipping, payable by cashier check, P.M.O or credit card with the usual charging fee.
