Description:
Standard configuration Izhevsk Tokarev SVT-40 semi-automatic rifle, no import marks, with 24.6-inch barrel in 7.62x54R, produced between 1940-1945, approximately 1.6 million manufactured, with gas-operated action, perforated handguard, and muzzle brake. Fully adjustable front sight and tangent rear sight graduated 1-15. Receiver dated "1941" under Izhevsk logo, Left side of receiver serialed "K5735". Fully matched to include bolt knob, bolt, trigger guard, and stock, the latter also marked with year, and arsenal logo. Wood with reddish-brown finish and multiple inspection stamps. Correct detachable magazine marked on left side with two Cyrillic letters followed by "1072 .2". Cleaning rod present. Complete with bayonet having wooden grip scales and black metal scabbard. The SVT-40 was intended as the new standard infantry rifle for the Red Army but production was disrupted by the German invasion in 1941, with the rifle more often issued to non-commissioned officers and elite units like naval infantry rather than regular troops.
