Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer a very clean example of the famous MAS 36. The MAS 36 served as the French service rifle after its adoption by the military in 1937. This rifle was intended to replace the Label and Berthier rifles, but budget constraints stopped this and it wound up serving alongside the very rifles it was meant to replace. The MAS 36 was generally well received among French soldiers and received praised for its simplicity and quick bolt cycling. Although many noted its unusual appearance and utilitarian design choices. The French opted to ditch the safety to reduce complexity and instructed soldiers to carry the rifles without a round chambered. This example, serial number L41354, produced circa 1944, has a mirror bore that rates 10/10, very clean furniture, and appears unfired. The parkerized parts retain 99% factory finish and comes with its spike bayonet. A classic interwar gun that soldered on into the cold war, a rifle as only the French could design, tough and reliable! Thanks for looking!
