This is a Romanian manufactured M44 Mosin Nagant Carbine, chambered in 7.62X54R. Finish rates about 85 ~ 90% with high edge wear throughout. Bore has good rifling and rates an 8 of 10. The stock shows typical handling marks and dings. The base of the stock has split and been repaired with wooded dowels and a finish nail. This looks like an old repair that has lasted. Full matching serial numbers - (furniture is non-serialized). The barrel shank is stamped with a wreath with the initials RPR (Romanian People‚‚s Republic), manufacturing year of 1954. Import marked up near the muzzle. Imported by C.A.I. Fully functional.
