Russian Soviet Izhevsk SVT-38, Military Rifle, All Matching with Correct Magazine, Bayonet with Scabbard.
Description:
Standard configuration SVT-38 Military rifle, the barrel with flash suppressor, unique front sight that is both drift and vertically adjustable through the hood, tangent rear sight graded 1-15. This example made in 1940 as marked on top of receiver. Bolt assembly in-the-white. All serial numbers match to T228 including the bolt handle, body of the bolt, and stock. Buttplate with correct acceptances. Correct magazine for the SVT-38 as reflected by the two holes on the bottom of the walls and floorplate secured by two pins, this example marked 2/BY413. Complete with a Russian bayonet, grip plate numbered 8223. Blade and scabbard blued.
Condition:
G/VG original condition, metal components retaining much of their original blue, the stock with more than half of its original varnish, wear and handling marks as expected from a Russian battle rifle that was carried/used throughout WWII. Comparable or better condition magazine. Generally bright bore, light erosion in grooves, easily discernible rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Bayonet and scabbard retaining most reapplied varnish/salt blue. An extremely difficult rifle to encounter, particularly when all matching and with original finish!
