You are looking at a Springfield model 1898 Krag Jorgensen rifle chambered in .30-40 Krag. This rifle has a 5 round internal magazine and comes with an original bayonet that was made in 1900. The stock is marked 1899. The serial number on the receiver estimates the year to be 1899 as well. The bluing has turned brown and the stock has some press marks and dings as pictured. The stock also has a few gouged as pictured. The top piece of wood is cracked as pictured and is slightly darker than the stock. The barrel has rifling left as pictured. The stock also has a brass pin near the middle barrel band.
