Swedish Ljungman AG-42B Rifle 6.5x55 w/Extras
Description: WWII Swedish gas-operated semi-auto rifle in 6.5x55 caliber. Very nice overall condition, stamped 1943 with "B" added after serial number to indicate postwar upgrades (stainless gas tube, knobs on sides of cocking slide, rubber-cushioned brass deflector, etc.) Includes everything shown in picture: Rifle, magazine, bayonet with metal scabbard and leather sheath, cleaning/maintenance kit roll, soft gun case. This rifle was purchased in 2009 from a Canadian dealer, who had been required by Canadian law to insert a rivet into the side of the 10-round magazine to reduce capacity to 5. I removed the rivet after purchase to restore 10-round capacity, but the rivet hole remains visible on the right side of the magazine. Stock disk is marked "1," and bore is excellent, clean and shiny. Recoil is on the gentler side, VERY accurate shooter. Gas block has been modified, tapped for M5 set screw and locking nut with tight-fitting brass washer added for good measure, to facilitate adjustment of gas operating pressure (like Hakim). Flawless functioning with no leakage, while gas pressure can now be dialed all the way down, adjustable for MUCH gentler ejection of cases. Stock is in very good shape, though with some superficial finish wear, notably in front of the forward barrel band. No cracks or deep gouges. Bayonet is also in very good shape, with some dark stains on blade, while cleaning/maintenance kit appears to be complete (though oil soaked, probably from old leakage of former contents of the metal vials, which were already empty upon arrival.) These are not original to the rifle, having been purchased separately at a later date. $40 for UPS ground shipping to FFL or C&R. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
