US Model 1903-A3 Rifle by Smith-Corona
Description:
Serial #3700301, .30-06, 24" barrel with a good bore that has some mild pitting within the grooves. This rifle has a 6-43 dated, “SC" barrel and retains 80-85% of the original parkerized finish that has silvered and faded at the muzzle, on the high edges and projections, and developed some areas of brown freckling on the receiver and trigger guard. The bearing surfaces of the bolt have also silvered leaving streaks of gray in the Du-Lite blue finish. The walnut stock is a Remington-made replacement, and has an added military oil finish over scattered small handling marks and minor blemishes throughout. The original assembly stamps and “FJA" cartouche are faint but still visible. An OD canvas M1 sling is fitted, and the stock compartment is vacant. This is a very good plus '03-A3 overall, and would make a great representative example for a collection. FFL or C&R
