WW1 Tsarist Russian Mosin-Nagant Model 1891 Rifle by Tula
Description: Serial #CN188684, 7.62 x 54Rmm, 29" barrel with a very good bore that has dark freckling within the grooves. This is a 1917-dated rifle that has extensive imperial era Tula markings on the barrel breech ahead of the octagonal receiver, with the metal retaining about 90-92% of an old arsenal reblued finish on the metal that has silvered at the muzzle and along the high edges and projections. The correct bolt has a mottled gray patina throughout and is numbered to a different gun. The stock and replacement handguard have numerous small handling marks and blemishes scattered about the added oil finish, with some additional inletting present on the left side of the receiver, apparently for clearing a scope mount, although the receiver was never drilled and tapped for one. The original rear sight, graduated in Russian "Arshins," rather than meters, is still present, and a US import marking is present on the right side of the barrel near the muzzle. The rifle comes with a later 91/30 cleaning rod, and a later 91/30 socket bayonet that measures 19 3/4" overall, with a 17" straight, angular blade having four hollow-ground flutes. This is an interesting WW1-dated Mosin-Nagant, with pre-Bolshevik markings, and is in good-near very good condition. FFL or C&R; Curio/Relic: Yes Price: $895.00 Contact Seller |
