WW2 Japanese Type 99 Rifle Series 1
Description:
Serial #(series 1) 27620, 7.7mm Arisaka, 26” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some traces of freckling within the grooves. This is a Nagoya marked rifle with scrubbed 'mum that has all matching numbers, including the dust cover. The metal retains 75-80% of the original blue blending smoothly with a dull, plum-brown patina on the balance. There is some silvering at the muzzle and on the bearing surfaces and edges of the bolt while the dust cover has an overall freckled brown patina that repeats on the bolt handle. The stock and handguard are in very good overall condition with light handling marks and minor blemishes throughout, as well as a series of large scrapes along the forearm just behind the nosecap on the right side. The rifle is equipped with an original folding monopod, aircraft lead wings on the rear sight, and cleaning rod. This is a very good-fine Type 99 overall and would make a nice addition to a collection. FFL or C&R
