Description: 1935 mfr. WAFFENSTADT Deutsches SPORTMODELL .22 LR BOLT ACTION Rifle C&R DSM-35 German K98 TRAINING Rifle Here we present a German Mauser Deutsches “Sportmodell” Rifle in .22 LR, made circa the 1935 in Suhl, Germany. The DSM became one of the most common of the German "training" rifles leading into World War II. Modeled after the K98, this training rifle has an inverted “V” front sight and a tangent rear sight graduated from 25 to 200. The top of the chamber is dated “1935” and “Waffenstadt Guhl” with a coat of arms device. “BUG” proofs. The barrel is marked “5.5mm” and the type of steel: “ROECHLINGSTAHL”. The top of the barrel is marked “Deutches Sportmodell”. Attractive grain in the stock. The overall condition is fine. Great original blue finish. The action is robust all around. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. Numbers match on the barrel and receiver but the bolt is not matching. A very nicely preserved specimen that is not import marked and almost certainly a bring back. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 26 inches.
