"Rare U.S. Model 1882 Remington-Lee Army Trials Rifle, Navy Purchase – .45-70 (58990)
Description: "Serial No. 9567, manufactured circa 1882, chambered in .45-70 with a 32½"" round barrel. The bore is bright with light oxidation noted, and rifling remains strong. The right side of the receiver retains its original Remington factory markings over “U.S.," and the barrel still shows its proof marks with traces of original blue preserved in protected areas. The stock is in very good condition and is marked “2/C/NB," a designation identified in Eugene Myszkowski’s The Remington-Lee Rifle (page 31) as belonging to the Massachusetts Naval Brigade, which purchased approximately 400 Model 1882 rifles. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A scarce and highly desirable Remington-Lee variant—an exceptional opportunity for the advanced martial arms collector.
