This circa 1927 U.S. Model 1922 MI rifle was upgraded to M2 configuration in 1938. It has the adjustable head space M2 bolt and bolt body, M2 magazine, and 10 - 38 M2 barrel. In addition, it is mounted in a full length Model 1903A3 style C pistol grip stock which has been correctly modified for the M2 magazine assembly. The bore is excellent with bright strong, rifling. The left side of the barrel at the chamber is marked LONG RIFLE over CART'GE ONLY. The front sight is a Lyman style hooded for interchangable discs and the rear sight is a Lyman 48. The barrel, trigger housing, bands, and butt plate have approx. 98% parkerized finish. the receiiver and magazine have approx 95% military blue finish. The bright bolt is excellent. The sling swivels are preaent and the stacking swivel is absent. The stock is exellent with minor storage dings and finish mars around the pistol grip. The action functions correctly. Many early taget shooters modified 1922 rifles into the service rifle configuration like this one. This is a great example for your collection or for target shooting.
