Description: EXCELLENT CASE COLOR AND BLUE MODEL 1902 ROLLING BLOCK MUSKET, 7MM MAUSER CALIBER. This is one of the best of these I’ve seen in a long while. They are not overly uncommon in average to poor condition, but with almost full case color and blue with excellent sharp bore, they are seldom seen. This example shows fine deep case color on the action, receiver ring, trigger guard etc.- Note: Remington did not polish the receivers on military Rolling Blocks before case coloring, so the colors are duller and typically darker than on commercial Rolling Blocks. The hammer and breech block retain about all the factory blue as does the barrel. Correct military rear sight and cleaning rod is intact. Only the butt stock is not in as good condition as the rest of the rifle as there are some worn-in chips at the tang receiver junctions and more handling marks than on the fore-stock and handguard. Easy enough to find a similar rifle with a better stock to swap, or just leave as is. Tight action, swivels intact. Most of these were exported to Latin America. A great example.
