Fine 100% Original Late WWII Inland Div. M1 .30 Carbine
Just acquired along with a large collection of U.S. military firearms including a number of M1 models is this very fine vintage WWII U.S. M1 .30 caliber carbine made by the Inland Division of General Motors- and it is one of the finest examples of late war production as we have had in quite awhile.
This specimen serial number 6793048 was in a block of serial numbers manufactured from January 1945 to August 1945. It has a Type III barrel band with lug which is proper for this specimen. Its flat bolt is proper and with nice blue. The adjustable sight is correct . The late WWII low wood stock with cartouche is correct. 4-rivet handguard also correct. The safety is plain push button. “M” clip release is Type “C”. The sling is an early Type C which is ok as well. The magazine is stamped “IA” which is Autotyre. The stock is fine and very sound with only one small bruise on the pistol grip. The finish on this specimen is very sharp and vibrant-not the usually found faded to grey patina most often encountered.
Overall one of the cleanest and 100% original late war Inland carbine specimens which we have had the pleasure to offer.
