Model 1898 Springfield Krag

Description:
As we know most of these rifles have been cut up over the years for sporting use. This rifle is an exception to that trend and has remained untouched and all original for over 100 years. Wood, metal, and internal parts are all matching and in excellent condition. Stock cartouches are crisp and clearly visible. Metal shows no sign or rust and only a small amount of pitting on the buttplate from storage. This rifle even comes with its original brass dustcap which Krag collectors will recognize is extremely rare. All mechanical parts function flawlessly. We do not test fire any guns but we check all older firearms for proper headspacing and mechanical function. This rifle was given to a Colonel of the U.S Army near his retirement and features some of the best wood we've ever seen on a Jorgenson Rifle.
