Description:
Standard configuration Remington Model 03-A3 / A4 bolt-action sniper rifle, original '03A4s having been made within three serial number blocks: 3407088 - 3427087, 4992001 - 4997045, and Z4000000 - Z4002920, this example from the first serial block. 24" 4-groove barrel dated 1943, caliber .30-06 Springfield, SN: 3425801, fitted with a Weaver 330 scope with fine crosshairs and 3/4" tube, vertically split rings over a Redfield base that is "REDFIELD" marked on right side with relieved rear. Thin shim under forward mount. RA (Remington Arms) barrel / Ordnance Bomb / "8-43", "P" on lower surface. Receiver ring marked "U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 03-A3" on left; SN: 3425801 on right, both offset to allow space for mount. Cutoff marked "ON" and "OFF". Bent handle bolt with "R" on handle and head. Safety lever "READY" and "SAFE". Military walnut stock, with blued bands, "FJA" faintly visible, encircled "P" in front of grip and boxed "RIA/ EB" on left side of butt. Checkered steel buttplate with door for cleaning supplies. Complete with unmarked militarysling.
Condition:
VG+ as partially arsenal reworked: the scope, rings, barrel bands, trigger guard, and floorplate with the original finish, most other components including the barrel, magazine cutoff, bolt assembly, base mounting screws, and handguard/stock arsenal reworked. Scope with minimally hazy optics and crisp reticle. Excellent bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics.
