Transitional 100% Original WWII 1944 M1 Carbine
Description:
Inland 5.03 serial number with the original 3-44 barrel. The five million Inlands are called transitional because they have some early and some late parts. The T-2 band is rare because they were not used long. The front sight has not ever been off and the real type 2 American Swiss type 2 band is there. The stock has no rebuild stamp but has been lightly sanded a long time ago. The Inland ordnance stamp is present but under oil finish. It has a late type 3 blued Inland bolt, with all inland parts inside. The Trigger housing is correct and all Inland with the early type 3 push safety. It has a PI rear type 2 sight. This is correct and the way it left the factory in 1944. There is no way to tell 100% that it is all original, but wear seems to match on all parts. Muzzle wear is just over 1.0 meaning it is almost like new. The bore cleaned up to be VERY shiny and looks mint. Headspace is very good, less than 1.296”
