US Model 1917 Enfield Rifle by Winchester with Brushed Blue Finish
Description: Serial #396719, .30-06, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome rifle that has an 8-18 dated, "W" marked barrel and correct "W" marked parts. The metal retains 85-90% of the original brushed blue finish with gray fading at the muzzle, along the high and exposed edges, as well as on the bearing surface of the bolt. The bolt was numbered at the base of the handle at some point, possibly by British armorers during WW2, but does not match the rifle serial number (469046), and there is a small import stamp on the underside of the barrel just ahead of the forend. The "W" marked walnut stock and handguard are in fine shape with only minor handling marks scattered about the armory refreshed military oil finish. The rifle has a 1918 dated, Model 1917 leather sling installed, and also has a correct metal oiler in the stock compartment. This is a fine example of a desirable Winchester-made Model 1917, that was never parkerized for WW2. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
