1942 Date WORLD WAR II Era FINNISH Mosin-Nagant M39 C&R INFANTRY Rifle WWII Finland Military Rifle Chambered in 7.62x54R
Description: 1942 Date WORLD WAR II Era FINNISH Mosin-Nagant M39 C&R INFANTRY Rifle WWII Finland Military Rifle Chambered in 7.62x54R Here we present a C&R Finnish Mosin-Nagant M39 Rifle, made in 1942 in Finland. The Finnish model is a variant of the original Russian Mosin-Nagant Model 1891. In 1919, two years after Finland declared independence from the Russian Empire, the Suojeluskuntain Yliesikunnan Asepaja (Civil Guard Supreme Staff Gun Works) opened in a former Helsinki brewery to repair private arms and recondition Russian military rifles for Finnish service. The rifle repair shop became financially independent of the civil guard in 1921. The Suojeluskuntain Yliesikunnan Asepaja moved from Helsinki to an ammunition factory in Riihimäki on June 1, 1927, and reorganized as SAKO in the 1930s. The Soviet Model 1891 known in the West as the Mosin–Nagant and in Russia as Mosin's rifle is a five-shot, bolt action, internal magazine fed military rifle developed from 1882 to 1891 and used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations. It is one of the most mass-produced military bolt-action rifles in history with over 37 million units having been made since its inception in 1891, and, in spite of its age, it has been used in various conflicts around the world up to the present day. The Finnish M39, nicknamed "Ukko-Pekka" after the former President Pehr Evind Svinhufvud, was a compromise between the Army and White Guard, adopted so as to standardize Mosin–Nagant production. The M39 was derived largely from the M28-30, but included some alterations proposed by the Army. The M39 also incorporated a semi-pistol grip into the stock, though some early examples used typical Mosin–Nagant straight stocks. Only 10 rifles were completed by the end of the Winter War, but 96,800 were produced after the Winter War and used in the Continuation War. Small numbers were assembled from leftover parts in the late 1960s through 1973, bringing the total production to approximately 102,000. This specimen is dated “1942” and marked with various inspection marks. It is chambered in the 7.62x54R cartridge, with a magazine capacity of 5. The overall condition is very good. Refinished. The numbers match on the receiver and barrel, but not the bolt. The action is excellent. The bore is in fine shape, shiny bright with sharp rifling. The stock is solid. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 27 inches. Caliber: 7.62x54 R Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1200 #220183 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
