1942 Finnish Army Arsenal "B" Marked M39 Mosin Nagant Rifle in 7.62x54R w/ Belarus 6x42 POSP Scope
** Unique M39 Mosin ** SOLD
Description: This is a very cool outfit, one we have never encountered before previously. This is a 1942-dated Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant built during World War 2, then Finnish Army Arsenal rebuilt at some point post-war, and then later fit with a very nicely made optics side-mount and a Belarus 6x42 POSP Scope after it was sold as surplus. The Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant is considered by most to be the ultimate Mosin Nagant model, the very best version of what the Mosin Nagant can be. The Finns improved the model in every way possible, the barrel was made stronger, the sights were improved and strengthened, the barrel bands were beefed up, and the stock was almost totally redesigned and made immensely stronger than the 1891 Mosin. The M39 served the Finnish Military thru World War 2 and into the 1960's, proving to be an extremely accurate, supremely reliable, near-indestructible battle rifle. This particular example is a post-war rebuild by the Finnish Army Arsenal with a Belgian-made "B"-stamped barrel and appears to be totally unfired since going thru the Finnish rework process. It is in excellent condition inside and out and was probably put into military storage until being sold off as surplus and imported into the States. The arsenal factory blue finish is bright and clean, showing only some very minor handling marks and rating 97% overall. The polished bright bolt is still shiny and bright as well, free from any pitting and with just a touch of discoloration/staining on the bolt handle. The bore in this M39 is mirror-bright and in like-new condition, free from any pitting, imperfections, or damage of any kind. The rifling still looks brand-new with sharp lands and grooves from the chamber to the crown of the muzzle. The stock set on this M39 is in like-new condition as well, free from any wear or handling marks of any kind. The finger joints in the stock are all perfectly tight and all of the stock hardware is intact and in excellent condition. All of the markings on this M39 are crisp and clear, and the import mark located on top of the barrel just behind the front sight does not stand out as an eyesore. The action on this Mosin M39 is slick and very smooth, and the bolt turns into battery with the barrel perfectly with no grit or slop. All of the controls on this M39 are in perfect working order, including the adjustable rear sight. This Finnish M39 should function just as reliably and accurately today as the day it left the factory. The very cool scope base on this Finnish Mosin is unmarked and made of blued steel. It is fastened to the rifle with 3 fasteners to the left side of the receiver and is VERY sturdy. The scope on this M39 is a Belarus-manufactured 6x42 POSP model with a battery-powered illuminated PSO-1 ranging reticle designed for the 7.62x54R cartridge that this Finnish M39 is chambered in. The optics have a slight yellow tint to them but are nice and clear, and all of the controls on this scope are in perfect working order including the elevation and windage adjustments. The way this rifle and scope were put together looks very professional and we have no doubt that it will perform VERY well. While this scope and rifle combination was never officially fielded by any military that we know of, it certainly looks like a Cold War era sniper!
