Antique Russian 1891 Mosin Nagant Bolt Action Rifle
Description:
This rifle was manufactured in 1896 at Tula Arsenal. Barrel is 31 1/2” with a very good plus/near excellent bright strong bore that shows some frosting. Serial numbers on the receiver and bolt match. The triggerguard has a different serial number and the buttplate is not marked. Receiver is also marked with a Finnish Army stamp; boxed SA which indicates capture and reissue to a Finnish Soldier at some point during WWI or WWII. Metal surfaces are mostly a gunmetal gray patina with some original blue remaining on the magazine and hexagonal receiver. The magazine follower retains strong fire blue. Stock is missing its disk on the right side and the left side of the butt has been heavily sanded or even ground down. The balance shows dings, dents and chipping to the surface with a dark oil soaked color. The handguard is a much lighter color than the stock and is a replacement. A cleaning rod is included. ANTIQUE
