Finnish Mosin-Nagant M24 "Lotta Rifle" Bohler-Stahl Barrel 7.62X54mmR

Description:

One of the earliest Finnish rebuilding programs' rifles were designated M24 and are the same basic pattern as the Russian M91. The funding for these rifles was raised by the Civil Guard Auxiliary known as the Lotta Svard and they are often known as “Lotta Rifles”. New barrels were purchased from one Swiss firm  and three German firms. The German barrels are marked "Bohler-Stahl" on the bottom of the barrel. All M24 barrels are undated and have the Civil Guard crest of an S topped with three fir sprigs in a shield on the chamber. All German barrels are heavier than the standard M91 barrel and have a "step" near the muzzle to accommodate a standard bayonet. Only 18,00 Bohler-Stahl barrels were produced.

The M24 here has the "Bohler-Stahl" stamp on the bottom of the barrel. The [SA] stamp is located on the barrel shank. Import marks located at end of muzzle.The receiver is dated 1919. The Christmas tree stamp (to signify "SAKO-approved ammunition only") and "D" 166 bullet stamp are located on the barrel shank.

There is a forend splice in the stock, while the stock is a beautiful piece of figured walnut. Cartouches are found in the buttstock. 

There is about 60% bluing retention. The Civil Guard #S62211 is stricken out. Rear sight has Finnish alterations to it. Hand guard and cleaning rod present.
