Finnish Mosin-Nagant
Model M91 VKT with Antique Receiver
7.62X54mmR
Description:
This M91's barrel shank is stamped 1942, but the receiver was manufactured by Sestroryetsk in 1896, thereby identifying this rifle as antique. There is an Austrian-Hungarian capture mark from World War I located on the top of the receiver as seen in picture. [SA] stamp is found on barrel shank near receiver along with "D", identifying this as chambered for the Finnish D166 bullet. The rear sight has original Russian markings lined out on the left side and Finn markings on the right side. The letter "D" is also stamped on the rear sight base.
This M91 has a wartime rounded arsenal splice. The stock is in excellent condition with very few handling marks. Handguard is solid with copper rivets. There is a crossed cannons cartouche located on right side of buttstock. Barrel bands are type 2. Comes with Finnish green leather sling with Finn hangers. Cleaning rod is present and in excellent condition. Bolt maintains much of its original arsenal grease. We strongly believe by report and evidence that this rifle has been unfired since importation.
Serial numbers match on the barrel, bolt, and receiver. The magazine floorplate shows no numbers, and the buttplate does not match. Very small import marks are found on barrel near muzzle. Barrel is excellent with crisp rifling. Rifle is not counter-bored. The CMP muzzle gauge reads at less than zero.
