This Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU was a Russian 7.62x54R sniper rifle (PU). Barrel stamp indicates the DOM is 1944.
From russian-mosin-nagant: "The 91/30 PU's were generally built to more exacting standards than their standard issue counterparts. The standard M91/30's were thought to have been fired and the best of the lot were selected to become sniper rifles. Once selected the triggers were reworked and the finish on the later PU snipers were better than the standard infantry rifles."
Issued with a 3.5X scope with 3-post reticule. This is a 1944 dated scope that was refurbished in 1961. Set of leather scope caps included.
All items on this rifle are true WWI period. Base, scope, and mount without matching numbers. Matching numbers are found on bolt, barrel, floor plate, and buttplate.
Bore condition is bright and shiny with a tight muzzle that passes the bullet test with flying colors. Trigger is crisp.
