Mosin-Nagant M1944 Carbine 7.62x54R Archangel Stock
Description: The Mosin-Nagant is one of the best and simplest bolt action rifles ever built. It is also the most-produced bolt action ever made with production running at over 37 million rifles! It faithfully served the Russian people for over 120 years and is still in use all over the world, thanks to its simplicity of design, operation, and use of the excellent 7.62x54R cartridge. The original rifle was designed to be stupid-simple to operate as most Russian soldiers then were illiterate conscripts. It was produced in both rifle and carbine lengths, the latter for use by the cavalry, engineers, and artillerymen. The M1944 was a development of the earlier M1938 Carbine. The difference was the addition of a folding bayonet. The M1944 here has been placed in one of Archangel’s tactical stocks. It uses a 10-round detachable magazine. There is a small compartment on the bottom of the grip as shown in the pictures. The rifle barrel has some minor pitting most likely acquired during its original service with the Soviet Army. The bore is in good shape for its age and the quality of ammunition used during the war. The stock is adjustable for length of pull and height. The iron sight is adjustable for elevation from 100m out to 1000m. If you are looking for a short, reliable bolt action rifle chambered for an inexpensive round, the M1944 would be a fine choice.
