Description:
Mosin-Nagant Rifle and Carbine converted to .22LR with Cartridge Adapters. Both rifles have .22LR rifled barrel inserts. The Bolt Face was modified to strike the rim fire cartridge.
M38 Carbine: Excellent condition, great metal finish, stock has no cracks. Serial numbered parts match. Dated 1942. 10 Cartridge Adapters provided.
M1891 Rifle: Excellent overall condition of metal and wood. Fitted with a Russian scope and correct mount. 5 Cartridge Adapters provided.
With the help of an excellent custom machinging and welding company in Worcester, Massachusetts these two firearms were converted to fire .22LR. The M38 was the first completed. It required a slight smoothing of the ramp to facilitate loading. The rifle benefited for the first effort. The cartridge adapter was elongated to the near dimentions of a service round. They feed without modification to the action.
My interest at the time was to collect one .22LR training weapon from each country that fielded one or in this case, make my own. Over the years, my interest cooled. I am now selling most of them off (listed on GI). With 37+ million Mosin-Nagant rifles in existence, I thought that producing a easy to install kit would be a big seller... Maybe it will but I am moving on.
Also on the table are miscelenaious parts.
I am willing to sell this as one lot or two. I like simple. This could be a business opertunity or just some fun shooting.
