Nice Condition NAGANT Model M44 1945R Chambered For 7.62X54 Rimmed Ammunition. This Soviet Model 1944 (M44) Mosin-Nagant carbine was manufactured in 1945 at the famed Izhevsk Arsenal. The M44 represents the final wartime evolution of the Mosin-Nagant series and features the distinctive side-folding cruciform bayonet integral to the design. This example is dated 1945, placing production at the closing stages of World War II. Rifles produced during this period were either issued in the final months of the war or placed into post-war storage as the Soviet Union transitioned into the Cold War era. Production of the M44 took place at both the Izhvesk and Tula armories; Tulas are stamped with a star on the receiver, this gun is stamped with Soviet Crest indicating that it was made in the Izhvesk armory.
