Description:
Soviet Mosin-Nagant Model 91/30 sniper rifle with PU scope made by Tula Arsenal in 1944, cal. 7.62x54R. Rifle with 29-inch barrel, vertically adjustable hooded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated 1-20. Barrel shank marked with the Tula Arsenal logo, the year 1944 and SN: ??656 that is repeated on the body of the bolt, the floor plate, and the butt plate. The Soviet number 05835 on the barrel shank has been lined out and replaced with "141885" stamped above it. PU scope 91/30, factory 25, SN: A-63390, with vertical pointed post bracketed by two horizontal segments, attached to an unnumbered mount. Hardwood stock with arsenal cartouches on right side of the butt including Tula Arsenal star, date not discernible. Cleaning rod present. Top of receiver with importer markings to include updated SN: “R18012".
Condition:
VG+ salt blue barrel, receiver, trigger guard assembly, scope mount and buttplate, the ensemble a factory rework as reflected by the renumbered barrel, the refurbished and now blank scope mount, and the purple-toned magazine housing coupled with the black toned salt blue on the magazine floorplate. Bright optics, proper reticle movement. Revarnished stock with much of the cartouche and the year date on the right side of the stock no longer discernible. Bright bore with crisp rifling. Correct manual mechanics.
